Geriatrics

Sam has enjoyed a career as a Registered Nurse for the past 26 years, which inspired her to pursue an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse degree from Purdue Global University. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including Public Health, Home Health, Rutland Regional Medical Center as a Transitional Care Nurse, nursing leadership, and Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) Nursing.

Sam currently serves on the Board of Directors and as an officer for the Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Symposium. She believes that healthcare encompasses physical, social, and environmental factors, and that even small interventions over time can have a lasting impact on people’s lives.

In her free time, Sam enjoys the outdoors, homesteading, and beekeeping with her husband and two sons.
