Melissa McKibben, FNP-C

Melissa McKibben, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C, earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado and is board certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner. She brings more than 20 years of experience in emergency and urgent care medicine and has cared for patients in Colorado, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

Melissa is a member of the telemedicine team, providing virtual urgent and acute care to help patients access timely, convenient medical care. Her clinical background in emergency and urgent care allows her to evaluate a wide range of concerns while helping patients determine when virtual care is appropriate and when an in-person evaluation may be needed.

In addition to her clinical career, Melissa served for 18 years with the National Disaster Medical System as a member of a Disaster Medical Assistance Team. During her years of federal disaster service, she responded to numerous public health emergencies and disasters, including deployments to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A native of Rhode Island with family throughout New England, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors, including cross-country skiing, gravel biking, and hiking.

“Healthcare has been a calling for me since I was a child, and I started working as an EMT at 18.”

Philosophy of Care

Her philosophy of care is “to treat everyone as I would like to be treated, to care for someone as if they are my own family member, and do the best I possibly can, to assure that the patient’s needs are being met. Acute management is my wheelhouse,” she said. At Community Health, she looks forward to providing high quality evidence-based care to patients in a rural environment.
