Michael A. Markowitz, MD
Family Medicine
Michael Markowitz, MD, has provided primary care to individuals and families for nearly 30 years. At Community Health Shorewell, Dr. Markowitz focuses on Community Health’s patient-focused, patient-centered mission. His healthcare career began in Tucson, Arizona, where he attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He interned at University Hospital at Stony Brook University in New York and completed a combined residency in both internal medicine and pediatrics at Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook and a Master of Arts degree in anthropology from Arizona State University.
Drawn to the climate, people, landscape, and culture of Vermont, outside of the practice Dr. Markowitz enjoys hiking on trails and biking on Vermont country roads, performing as a musician, and as a craftsman repairing fretted string instruments.
