Director of Population Health and Quality
Â
Originally from Nepal, Biswas Pradhan migrated to the United States in 2009 for his higher studies. Biswas brings extensive experiences in the fields of population health, chronic disease management, and community health. While pursuing his Master’s in Social Work degree in Chicago, Biswas was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, which inspired his interest in community and preventive/primary health. Biswas's Fellowship project involved teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and offering health education related to diabetes, hypertension, and healthcare navigation to elderly Bhutanese refugees who had just begun to resettle in the United States.
Prior to joining Community Health, Biswas held several leadership roles including Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Boston, Director of Population Health for state’s leading health plan in Rhode Island, and Population Health Manager at Friend Health, a community health center serving underserved communities on Chicago’s south side. Biswas values the power of interdisciplinary collaboration among departments and community stakeholders.
Outside of work, Biswas enjoys taking road trips, hiking in nature, going to the gym, or relaxing with a good movie. Biswas also likes swimming, dancing, and is learning to cook different ethnic cuisines. Biswas holds a BBA from the University of Charleston, an MSW from Loyola University Chicago, and an MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Biswas says he felt an instant connection with Vermont, and the valleys, mountains, and stunning landscape remind him of his home country.
