Anna Gries, LCMHC, LPC

Anna R. Gries, LCMHC, LPC

Behavioral Health | Psychotherapy

Anna Gries, LCMHC, LPC is a licensed therapist who primarily works with adult clients. Originally from New York, she earned her undergraduate degree from SUNY New Paltz with a focus on Disaster Mental Health before completing her master’s degree in International Disaster Psychology in Colorado. Her graduate training centered on trauma recovery, community collaboration, and integrative approaches to health. During her career in Colorado, Anna worked extensively in community-based settings, supporting refugees and underserved populations. Her work focused on both individual and group therapy, helping clients heal from traumatic experiences while exploring the roles of resilience and community in recovery. Over time, her clinical focus expanded to include couples therapy, supporting partners as they navigate challenges and repair the ruptures that naturally arise in close relationships. After more than a decade in Colorado, Anna and her family relocated to Vermont to be closer to extended family and to enjoy the richness of small-community life. Outside of her professional work, Anna can be found skiing Vermont’s slopes, reading for her book club, or spending time on adventures with her family.

Philosophy of Care

I believe you are the expert of your own experience. Each of us carries an innate capacity for healing, though the path is not always easy to see. My role is to walk alongside you, helping clear the “tall grass” so you can more clearly find your next steps forward.

Professional Interests:
Anna is currently completing her certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), deepening her training in body-based approaches to trauma recovery. She has a strong interest in the science of the nervous system and how the body responds to and holds traumatic experiences. In addition to her trauma-focused work, Anna is passionate about supporting couples and individuals who are navigating challenges in their relationships.
