Dental Care for Kids
Kids get special attention
The American Association for Pediatric Dentistry recommends that every child sees a dentist before the age of 12 months so the child becomes familiar with the dentist and the surroundings. Our pediatric hygienist identifies problem areas as a child grows and teeth develop. The dental team educates parents on the importance of baby teeth for future oral health. For young adults, they help adolescents keep their teeth and gums healthy, especially when they are in braces.
Dental checkups every six months at our child-friendly offices
Pediatric dentists and hygienists are specially trained to understand the physical and emotional needs of children and the importance of oral health education. Building relationships is important as the child grows.
During checkups every six months, the dental team will make sure your child is doing everything correctly to take care of their teeth, and if they have a cavity, it’ll be caught early.
Kids dental services include:
- Fluoride
- Sealants
- Dental Cleaning
- Crowns
- Filings
- Extractions
- Space Maintainers
- Comprehensive and Periodic Exams
How to keep kids cavity free
From the time a child is born, there are ways to promote healthy teeth and prevent cavities. Some of the ways include cleaning teeth with a soft, clean cloth or baby’s toothbrush and avoiding putting a baby to bed with a bottle. Community Dental recommends that when the first tooth breaks through that parents start brushing the child’s teeth with a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste. Parents can limit sweet snacks and drinks and schedule regular check-ups.
