Clinical Training Opportunities at Community Health

“My rotation at Community Health was one of the most valuable parts of my education. The providers were supportive and truly invested in helping me grow as a clinician. I gained confidence, hands-on experience, and a deeper understanding of patient-centered care.”

We provide a range of hands-on clinical experiences, including:

  • Clinical rotations
  • Preceptorships
  • Practicum placements
  • Externships

These experiences vary by discipline and program requirements but all emphasize integrated, patient-centered care in a team-based setting.

To request a placement, please complete the Clinical Placement Request Form located on our website. We encourage students to reach out early—slots are limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

That’s great! Even if you’ve secured a preceptor directly, we still require you to complete our Clinical Placement Request Form. This ensures our HR and Credentialing teams have the documentation needed to support your placement. For additional questions, please email us at jobs@chcrr.org.

Yes. We accept students from both in-state and out-of-state institutions, including accredited online programs. All placements are subject to availability and alignment with licensure and supervision requirements.

Yes. Each student is matched with a qualified, experienced preceptor who provides supervision, mentorship, and feedback throughout your placement. However, slots are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Community Health offers placements at several clinical sites across our region. Final placement depends on your discipline, learning objectives, and preceptor availability. Visit our locations page to learn more.

At this time, our clinical training experiences are unpaid. However, we are committed to providing a high-quality, supportive learning environment that prepares you for future employment and licensure.

Pediatrics rotations tend to fill quickly due to high demand and limited availability. We strongly recommend reaching out as early as possible to discuss your placement timeline and secure your spot.

All students completing a rotation longer than one week are required to attend an in-person orientation prior to their start date.

  • Orientation is a 4-hour in-person session held on select Mondays in Rutland, typically 2x a month.
  • Students must complete orientation before their first scheduled clinical day.

Required documentation—including immunization records, background checks, confidentiality agreements, and school affiliation materials—must be submitted in advance.

Start by completing our Clinical Placement Request Form, and we’ll follow up as soon as possible to discuss next steps.
