Karl Astaphan, MD is a family practice physician at Community Health Castleton. His career as a family healthcare provider has spanned community health, urgent care, and private practice in Canada and the US.

Dr. Astaphan received his medical and undergraduate degrees from the University of Western Ontario, Canada and did his internship and residency training at Memorial University in Newfoundland and Queens University in Ontario. A diverse career in general family practice took him to various healthcare settings in the US in Georgia and in Ontario, Canada. In addition to family practice, he has worked in opioid addiction treatment. He’s licensed to practice in Vermont, Georgia, Tennessee, and Ontario.

Born on the small Caribbean Island of Saint Kitts, Dr. Astaphan moved to Canada as a teenager where he attended high school, then received his undergraduate and medical training
