
Andrew Cushing, MD
Family Medicine
Andrew Cushing, MD, is a primary care provider at Community Health Rutland. With experience in hospital and community healthcare settings, Dr. Cushing focuses his family medicine on promoting healthy practices, prevention, and managing the transition of care between hospital and outpatient. He’s participated in free community health and immunization clinics, healthcare education, volunteered at a camp for kids with cancer, and has worked in small community-based environments as well as a major hospital network.
Dr. Cushing earned a medical degree at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at HCA Healthcare in Arlington, Texas.
Coming from a family of veterinary medical professionals, Dr. Cushing was raised on a horse farm in Maryland. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Delaware where he focused on biomedical sciences.
Vermont provides Dr. Cushing with his favorite hobbies – hiking, the outdoors, music, and playing guitar, bass, and singing. He also keeps physically active with Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
