Chris Cornelius, MD

Chris Cornelius, MD, was born and raised in West Rutland and earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Vermont. He completed a residency in family practice with the University of Florida/North Broward Hospital District. Dr. Cornelius returned to Vermont where he subsequently opened a private practice in 2003 that served the Rutland community for 20 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Vermont Medical Society. He’s been part of the Rutland community as a clinician and business owner who raised his family in the hometown area where he and his wife of 30 years grew up. Dr. Cornelius is a huge Miami Dolphins football fan and a hobbyist acoustic guitar player who has performed locally with friends. He spends quality time with his wife, Alicia, and Fiona, the family’s goldendoodle. He also has two grown children, Emilee and Alex.

I focus on prevention and being an advocate for my patients. I like my patients to be informed and understand what’s going on with their health.
