Community Health Medical Director Honored as Advocate for Nurse Practitioners By Jill Jesso-White on December 6, 2019 in Community Health News National NP Group Names Dr. Bradley Berryhill Vermont Advocate Rutland – Dr. Bradley Alan Berryhill, Community Health Medical Director, is recipient of the 2020 AANP Advocate State Award for Excellence. “This prestigious award is given annually to a dedicated advocate in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and recognition of nurse practitioners,” said Sophia L. Thomas, president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Dr. Berryhill will be honored for this achievement during the 2020 AANP National Conference at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans in June 2020 during the Salute to the States Award ceremony and reception on Friday, June 26. According to the AANP, the Advocate State Award for Excellence was established in 1993 to recognize physicians, legislators, educators and others who have supported nurse practitioners. Dr. Berryhill has been with Community Health since its founding in 2003 and was named medical director in 2004. He is a graduate of State University of New York and completed his internship and residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y.
