Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region Takes on Winter Fest Challenges

Family is a key word at the Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region (CHCRR), and during the month of February a family of employees will be banding together to help raise the profile of Rutland while raising funds for some good causes during Winter Fest Feb. 16-24.

This month a new family from CHCRR has come together to compete in the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce’s “Real Rutland Feud.” CHCRR’s team, the “Community Health Heros” is made up of Exexutive Director Grant Whitmer, Patient Relations Specialist Jill Jesso-White, Clinical Director Claudia Courcelle, Human Resources Assistant Tina Mariee Austin and Executive Assistant Pam Forte. These fantastic five will face off with the Rutland Regional Medical Center team on Feb. 24 at the Paramount Theater in Rutland. Proceeds from the event benefit the Chamber’s regional marketing initiative.

A team from CHCRR will also be preparing three gallons of chili to warm the bones on a cold winter day, and to compete in the 1st Annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday, Feb. 17 during Rutland’s Winter Fest Main Street Park Activities.  Jill Jesso-White and Tina Mariee Austin will be serving up their special recipe from noon until 3pm when judges will announce the winners.

CHCRR’s staff is always concerned about the health and wellness of their patients, but they are also taking time to examine and bandage teddy bears who need some attention. During the Indoor Outdoor Winter Fun Day Friday, Feb. 23, CHCRR staff will share their caring talents at the Teddy Bear Clinic from 4-8pm.

CHCRR is central Vermont’s largest network of primary care, pediatric and dental services with offices in Rutland, Brandon, Castleton, West Pawlet and Shoreham. Community Dental offices are located in Rutland and Shoreham, CHCRR Pediatrics is in Rutland, and CHCRR’s Express Care centers, open 7 days a week, are located at the Rutland and Castleton Community Health Centers.
